CMU officials to provide counselors for those affect by last week's campus shooting; suspect faces murder charges

Central Michigan University leaders are hoping to have more counselors at the school when students return from spring break next week.

Students, faculty and other workers were locked down in dorms and other buildings for several hours last Friday after a student shot his parents to death inside Campbell Hall.

James Davis Jr. faces murder and weapons charges.

He was arrested early Saturday morning and remains in custody at McLaren Hospital.

Formal arraignment could happen today.

James Davis Sr. and Diva Davis were shot inside their son's dorm room.

The gun used was registered to the older Davis who was a police officer in suburban Chicago.

University President George Ross says he is exploring additional counseling services in the days and weeks ahead.
