Ferris Faculty Association votes to strike

Ferris State University Students returned to campus last week and are expected to start classes today however the Ferris Faculty Association decided to strike after negotiations on a new contract broke down.

 

The faculty's old contract expired June 30th.

 

In a press release by the Michigan Education Association, the FFA voted to strike Saturday night.

 

In a statement on Ferris' website the school says based on the FFA's decision to strike, some faculty may not be present to teach their classes on Monday. Classes will be held and students should attend as scheduled.

 

The University plans to continue negotiations with the FFA and to serve the best interests of students as this process continues.
