RECRUITMENT FAIR - OLDER WORKER OPPORTUNITIES

From 9:00AM to 2:00PM

The Experience Works Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) will be accepting applications on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Michigan Works, 14330 Northland Drive, Big Rapids, MI. Program applicants must be age 55 or older, unemployed, live in Mecosta or surround counties, and have income of $14,850 per year or less for a family of one ($20,025 for family of two). For more information call Toll Free at 1-888-278-9109 or 989-773-1932. Sponsored by the nonprofit organization Experience Works, SCSEP is available at no cost to people who meet eligibility criteria. The program provides paid community service assignments at local public and non-profit organizations, training, referral to needed services, and job search assistance. SUMMER FUN FOR KIDS

Who: All children 18 years old and younger from all areas and schools are welcome to come and enjoy fun free activities and a healthy free lunch. Parents are welcome to purchase a meal for $3.75 and eat with their child. What: FREE fun activities, crafts, books and a healthy lunch! LIBRARY SUMMER PROGRAM - INDOOR BALLOON TENNIS

From 5:00PM to 6:00PM

Learn how to make a game you can play indoors. Make a set of paddles and use a balloon as a ball. This is held at the Big Rapids Community Library.

Mecosta County Rod & Gun Club Hunter Safety Class

From 5:00PM to 9:00PM

Anyone born after 1960 is required to obtain a certificate in order to purchase a hunting license. Open to all ages. Free of charge. This is a 3-day event. July 19, 21, & 23. The course is designed for 10 year old and older. Anyone under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Note that attendees need to complete all three days in order to receive a certificate.
