Wee Wonders Pre-K Art Workshop |
Location: Community Room, Public Safety Building, 435 North Michigan St., Big Rapids
This workshop series is designed to help parents and their preschool-aged children explore natural creative expression in one session each week for four weeks. Sessions include “Music is Marvelous,” “Clay Day Play Day,” “Wacky Imaginings” and “Fabulous Fabric.”
Please bring a mom- or dad-sized button-down shirt with short or cutoff sleeves for a child’s smock.

Farwell, Mich. sculptor Ted Evans will demonstrate how to create sculpture from found objects in this unique and engaging presentation.
Evans' art has been featured throughout galleries in Michigan and Canada, and he was the 2006-07 artist in residence at the Creative Spirit Center of Midland, Mich.

Foreign Film Festival: "Queen to Play" |

The French comedy-drama "Queen to Play" (2009, 97 minutes, not rated) is the first in this series of four films from France featured as a part of this year's Festival of the Arts.
A feel-good film set in idyllic Corsica, "Queen to Play" follows chambermaid Hélène, whose new found obsession with the game of chess leads her to seek the instruction of a reclusive American expatriate.
