7:00PM 9:00PM "Tea for Two-morrow" Play Location: Immanuel Lutheran Church, 726 Fuller, Big Rapids. Tea for Two-Morrow examines the changing roles of first ladies of the United States, imagining discussions between entering and departing first ladies on the afternoons of inauguration days in 1797, 1861, 1921 and 1993. Featuring Katherine LaPietra, Nell Rose Hill, Vicky Scott, Suzette Compton, Raquel Jackmond, Linda Rinehart, Jerena Keys and Lori Hathaway, this play looks closely at the circumstances that define a presidency and asks if the first lady should serve as a hostess and ribbon cutter or take on a social cause to inspire the nation. How should first ladies play their roles against the backdrops of a new nation, civil war, scandal and feminization? Following the production, playwright and director Barbara Pillsbury will lead a discussion. For more information, contact Immanuel Lutheran Church at (231) 796-8273. De Senlis, who was considered eccentric and lived in poverty, spent the little money she had on paints for her strange, exuberant and moving paintings. When a famous German art collector recognized the quality of her work in 1914, she was propelled into a life for which she was ill-prepared.
