"Demon Masks and Timelines" Art Exhibit |
Location: Rankin Art Gallery
Retired Big Rapids High School art teacher James MaloneBeach will exhibit his work titled "Demon Masks and Timelines" at the Rankin Center Art Gallery. The February 16 reception will feature remarks by the artist and refreshments.
Created by pressing stoneware clay into a stylized plaster mold of the artist's face, each series of mask collections in the exhibit represents a timeline of MaloneBeach's personal response to a family, local or national event.
MaloneBeach's work has been shown at numerous venues in the United States and Portugal, with permanent collections of his work in the Newark Museum, the Swedish Royal Cabinet of Coins and Medals, the British Museum and the National Museum of the Netherlands.
