Michigan State Police announced that Zakery George-Wayne Ripley, 38, was arraigned Tuesday, July 28, for a home invasion that occurred earlier this month.
Ripley invaded the home of an elderly Isabella County man on Saturday, July 11, about 3 p.m. He then assaulted the man, stole his vehicle and fled to Indiana. He was found and taken into custody by the Nappanee Police Department around Wednesday, July 15.
He has been charged with the following nine counts:
- Assault with intent to murder
- Assault with intent to rob while armed
- First-degree home invasion
- Unlawful imprisonment
- Assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation
- Assault with a dangerous weapon
- Tampering with evidence
- Unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle
- Larceny in a building
Ripley was arraigned in 76th District Court in Isabella County. His bond has been set at $2 million.
