The 40th annual Ferris State Hockey Golf Outing takes place this weekend in Big Rapids and the Bulldogs will welcome back stars of the past for a special Alumni Hockey Game on Friday, July 31, at the Ewigleben Ice Arena.

More than 20 former standouts are expected to lace up the skates again and the alumni game is open to the public and no admission will be charged. Puck drop is set for 6:30 p.m.

The list of alums slated to play in the alumni game includes former professional players such as Zach Redmond, Pat Nagle and Chad Billins among others. Several members of the Bulldogs' 2012 NCAA Frozen Four squad will also take part along with members of FSU's 2014 and 2016 NCAA Final Eight teams.

Fans are invited come back and watch many of the program's stars of the past hit the ice. The alumni game on the ice replaces the former Friday evening softball game played by the past standouts in Big Rapids.

Following Friday night's alumni game, the Bulldogs will host their annual golf outing on Saturday at Katke Golf Course with another large crowd expected. The golf outing, which serves as a major fundraiser for the Bulldog Hockey program, has sold out nearly every year for more than a decade with a total of more than 40 teams and 170 golfers for the event in recent years on Katke Golf Course's 21-hole championship course at FSU.
